Columbus Concrete Contractor Co is a local concrete contractor based at 4701 Olentangy River Rd, serving the whole metro. Driveways, patios, sidewalks, slabs, steps, stamped work, and repairs - residential flatwork is what we do, all day, every season the weather allows.
The approach hasn't changed since we started: walk the property, measure it, put the price in writing, build the part nobody sees as carefully as the part everybody sees.

A concrete company built for central Ohio
You can't pour good concrete here on general knowledge. Columbus puts roughly 50 freeze-thaw cycles a winter into every exterior slab in the county, and the salt trucks add chemistry on top of physics. Underneath, Franklin County sits on glacial till - heavy clay that holds water, heaves when it freezes, and shrinks away in a dry August. The frost line runs 32 inches down, which is where footings have to bear if the thing on top of them is going to stay level.
Those four facts decide most of what we do. Air-entrained concrete at 4,000 PSI for exterior work, so freezing water has somewhere to expand. Crushed limestone base compacted in lifts, because clay won't hold a slab still on its own. Rebar on chairs in the middle third of the slab, where steel actually does something. Control joints cut on time and spaced for the thickness, so cracks land where we planned instead of across the middle of your driveway.
We know the neighborhoods too. Clintonville's silver maples lifting sidewalk squares an inch a year. Postwar drives in Beechwold and Whitehall poured for cars half the weight of what parks on them now. Tight backyards in German Village and Grandview Heights where every yard of concrete rides a buggy through a gate. Historic commission review on street-facing work in German Village. None of that shows up in a national price sheet.
How we run every job
The estimate is free and it's in writing, and it names the spec - thickness, PSI, air entrainment, reinforcement type and placement, base depth, joint plan. That's deliberate. Concrete bids look identical until you read what's under the slab, and most of the difference between a good price and a cheap one is buried where you'll never see it.
We tell you the truth about timing. The pouring season in central Ohio runs roughly April through early November. Cold-weather pours are possible with blankets and accelerators when a job can't wait, but concrete placed carelessly in freezing weather never reaches strength, and no finish hides that later. When the honest answer is "let's wait two weeks," that's the answer you get.
We diagnose before we sell. A good share of the "replace my driveway" calls we take turn out to be resurfacing candidates at a fraction of the cost, and some slabs people hoped to patch are genuinely done. Both verdicts come in writing, with reasons.
And we clean up. Site swept, spoil hauled, fence panels back where they came off. You get a cure timeline in writing - when to walk on it, when to park on it, and why no deicing salt the first winter.
Insured and accountable
We carry liability and workers' comp, and certificates are available the moment you ask. Where a job needs a permit - driveway approaches crossing the public right-of-way, structural slabs and footings, sidewalk work in the right-of-way - we pull it and stand for the inspection. Skipping that saves a little on day one and costs a lot at closing.
Our workmanship guarantee is in writing. If something we poured fails because of our workmanship, we come back and make it right.
We're not the cheapest bid in Columbus. We're the bid that specifies what's under the concrete and then actually puts it there.
